Writers and readers, families and friends, kids and adults, Latinos and rest of the world. Everybody had fun chatting, enjoying a mate, listening to gaucho stories, or reading a passage with the author.

We felt proud. This time we did it in our hometown, or better said our “by choice” home since many Latinos adopted Coquitlam to live in, and this City gave integrated us and give us the chance to honour our traditions and respect our culture.

And the City literally helped us with support, and we had our Book Fair at Coquitlam Public Library which hosted us in the big room. And we have a great time with people who volunteered to make it better, and with everyone that came across. Visitors share experiences and even received books as souvenirs.

Yes, we can improve and make it better, and we will, but it was a success and for that and for believing that we can have the Spanish Fair Book in Coquitlam, I want to thank Silvana Goldemberg, and the authorities of the City of Coquitlam and Coquitlam Public Library, specially Kate Brown, Mayor Richard Stewart, Jay Peters and Chris Miller, and of course to all authors, volunteers and public that made the event possible.

Vanesa:
Hermoso evento en un lugar increíble. Muchas gracias por darle un lugar a la literatura latinoamericana. Hay mucho para ofrecer y s necesario que haya un lugar en el cual los lectores latinos puedan conseguir libros en su lengua materna. :)

What a great event to experience for the first time. It was a welcoming event capturing a culture I had previously never experienced and I enjoyed being welcomed and educated by all the friendly faces.
