Povely

Povely Thomas, a currently junior student at the University of Delaware (Major: Nurition and Dietetics Minor: Spanish) made an impression in her visit to Argentina due to her vast knowledge in the art of making and enjoying mate.

Povely spent the past month in Buenos Aires studying Spanish and tasting a little bit of  Argentine culture. Immersed in the argies every day way of life she could not escape trying their iconic infusion. Neither she resisted the idea of focusing her project thesis on mate because "it is so fundamental to their culture and is unlike anything in the U.S".
Like many Argentinians, Povely mateó (had mate) with her host mom who told her about Arriba el Mate because her son started this organization in Vancouver, she enjoyed mate with friends, and finally confessed to have even drink it alone while studying .
I am Lucas (the son) and unfortunately cannot include the wonderful presentation that she did and send me in a pdf file in perfect Spanish where she capture the essence of our traditions: the feeling of sharing that memorable time exceeds all the beneficial properties of the drink itself.
I personally have to confess that I was lazy of making mate for myself even if I used to enjoyed when someone else invited me a mate. But lately, since I moved from my conflicting and beloved Argentina, I always spent part of my day with my inseparable companion and best mate, my mate.
Congrats y arriba ese mate Povely!
